The DL441 Quad Auto Compressor/Limiter delivers four channels of Drawmer's acclaimed DL241 circuitry in a compact 1U chassis. It combines intelligent automation with precise manual control, giving engineers fast, accurate management of dynamic range and peak levels.
Each channel features an Auto Attack/Release compressor and variable-threshold peak limiter, providing musical compression and transparent peak control. High-resolution bar-graph meters display gain reduction and output level simultaneously, ideal for both studio and live use.
Each compressor operates in either Hard or Soft Knee mode. Soft Knee gradually increases the ratio over a 10dB range for smooth, musical results. Hard Knee applies the selected ratio immediately when the threshold is crossed, offering tighter, more assertive control that's ideal for broadcast or for shaping drums, guitars, and vocals.
Selectable Auto Attack and Release continuously adapt to programme material, preserving transients while preventing excessive peaks. The result is responsive, natural-sounding compression that minimises pumping and breathing, even with complex or unpredictable dynamics such as full mixes, vocals, or bass instruments.
Drawmer's Zero Response Time, Zero Overshoot limiter guarantees complete control over output peaks. Adjustable from 0dB to +16dB above system level, it provides distortion-free limiting and total protection against overloads, making it ideal for mastering, live systems, or speaker protection.
